Field Archaeologists
We are expanding our excavation team on an archaeological site near Larne with immediate start date with further opportunities within the Larne area and throughout Northern Ireland. Expected 6 month contract with further opportunities available.
Payscale:
Graduate / Trainee Field Archaeologists (less than 6 months experience): £22360 p.a / £430 pw
Field Archaeologists: £24960- £26720 p.a / £480 - £513 per week depending upon experience
Candidates for the position of Field Archaeologist should have the following:

Junior Project Officer / Site Director - £29380 - £31200 p.a / £565 - £600 per week depending upon experience
Permenant position subject to a 3 month probation period.
Working as part of a small but dedicated team reporting to senior management, the Project Officer will be required to have previous experience in the delivery of small to medium sized archaeological projects from planning stage through to completion.

- Degree in archaeology or relevant subject OR demonstrable experience in archaeological site excavation and recording within the UK and/or Ireland
- Valid CSCS / CSR / Safe Pass H&S card
- Ability to work as part of a team
- UK / EU Driving licence desirable
- Eligible to work in the UK
- 37.5hr week
- Flexible Working arrangements
- 20 Days Holiday Pay + Statutory Holiday (pro rata)

- Compilation and review of Impact Assessmentc / Written Schemes of Investigation
- Conducting, writing and reviewing monitoring/watching briefs/evaluation reports
- Compilation and reviewing archaeological post excavation reports
- Liaison with clients / stakeholders in a professional manner
- Eligible to hold an archaeological licence
- At least 6 months experience of conducting archaeological monitoring, test excavation and site excavation.
- Ability to organise a wide range of field projects including management of archaeological teams and logistics
- Excellent team leading and motivation skills
- Accomplished report writing skills
- Accomplished research skills
- Very good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Critical thinking and problem solving
- Proven experience in the delivery of professional standard reports will be required
Desirable skills include:
- A working knowledge of Northern Ireland heritage and planning legislation (training will be provided)
- Competent in use of office software (Word, Excel, etc)
- Competent in use of CAD & GIS software
- 37.5hr week
